The Narcissistic Black Man Part II
I mentioned in the article, The Narcissistic Black Man that I would come back and elaborate more on this topic.Well, the time has come for me to do just that. But first- I am totally aware that I'm going to upset some brothers that won't quite agree with what I have to say. And that's fine, but guess what. No more are Black women accepting this. Black women are fed up with the narcissism behavior in our Black men, and because of this we are educating ourselves on how to deal with this horrendous disorder.
It's one thing to not know that someone possibly may have a personality disorder, but when you have been in a relationship for years and years with nothing good to show, but headaches and heartaches then you should really suspect that there's a problem. And you can start by identifying if your significant other has the following characteristics:
The Narcissistic Black Man is:
1. Self-centered ( Selfish)- It's all about him. He comes first, regardless if he does have children. His woman is required to fulfill his needs at all times.
2. Arrogant- To him he's the best thing that ever happened to you. He's your eye candy, because he brings the beauty in the relationship. He's smarter, prettier, and can do anything better than you.
3. Manipulative- Lying comes natural to him.
4. Uses Gas-Lighting Tactics- Degrades you or make you second guess yourself or your intellect when you bring something up from the past. In other words, gas-lighting is a form of mental abuse in which information is twisted/spun, selectively omitted to favor the abuser, or false information is presented with the intent of making victims doubt their own memory, perception and sanity.
5. Verbal Abusive- He loves to call you out of your name. Tells you; you're fat, ugly, dumb, stupid, etc.
6. Project Faults Unto Others (Blames Others)-Falsely accuses you for things he caused upon himself. For example: you were the caused of him getting fired from his job. When actually it was him that caused his demised from his place of employment because of his tardiness and bad performance.
7.Shows No Remorse For Mistakes Or Deeds- Unable to show sympathy because of his actions. He rejoice when you are hurt, cry, when you're sad, and/or angry. Example: you caught him cheating on you with your best friend. Instead of him apologizing to you, he goes to the club and hang out with his buddies, coming back to the house never confronting the issue.
